Andres Romero wins the Argentina Masters at Olivos Golf Club

The Argentinean PGA Tour player from Tucuman, Andres Romero, won yesterday for the second time the 23th edition of the Argentina Masters Tournament played every year at Olivos Golf Club.
With a final score of 68 on Sunday (-3) and 271 (-13) for the four rounds, Romero defeated the defending champion Ton Lehman, Fabian Gomez and Cesar Costilla.
Final round was really exciting, Gomez started with eagle at first hole, cutting the difference with Romero to only one, but slowly Romero's birdies started coming and in the 17th, from the pot bunker on the left (one of the most dangerious places in the course) Romero holed his sand wedge!!
Olivos, considered the best golf course in Argentina by Golf Digest Magazine, hosts every year the Argentina Masters. You can play it from Tuesday to Sunday at 100 USD the green fee for non-members.

The first Gary Player Design arrives to Argentina

One of the greatest players in golf history will design his first course in South America named ''AYMURAY''  in the Argentinean province of Mendoza. This province of the western border of the country is well known for its vineyards, cellars, and also the unique views of the Andes Mountains.
The South African visited our country during February and was delighted with the lot where he is going to design the course. The investment is going to be around 100 million dollars including the golf course and the facilities for the Country Club (for more info click).
Gary is not the first great player and designer to choose Argentina to design a golf course. The list already include important names as Jack Nicklaus, Robert Von Hagge, Randall Thompson and Greg Norman among others.

Greg Norman presents ''El Desafio'', his new Design in Patagonia

The great ''white shark'' is designing his first golf course in South America, almost in front of the Nicklaus' Chapelco Golf & Resort, in the Argentinean Patagonia. This luxury development is unique for encompassing an entire mountain of 2,500 acres, master-planned to guarantee the preservation of the environment and local identity. In addition to an 18-hole championship golf course, the Resort has set aside a full 1,440 acres as a nature reserve, and will feature two professional polo fields, horse jumping and equestrian facilities, low-density residential lots, a luxury hotel and mountain spa. During the presentation of the project Norman said: "I have always been intrigued by the natural beauty of the Patagonia region and consider it an honor to have my first course in Argentina showcased on this magnificent piece of property". "Of the all the mountain projects I have worked on, El Desafio has the most to offer. The views are absolutely stunning, and the topography will allow us to route the golf course amongst some of the most scenic terrain in the world" Mr. Norman added.

La Reserva Cardales Golf - Sofitel Luxury Hotels

Last weekend visited the fairways of the recently inaugurates golf course of “La Reserva Cardales”. This American style course designed by Caprile & Capdepont represents a very enjoyable trace of 18 holes along 6.614 yards (from the back tees). Being the first golf resort in Buenos Aires area, is a typical “resort course” that will forgive you enough to have fun. With three par 4 of around 300 yards, and most of the rest playing an avg of 375 yards, is not necessary to be a long hitter to get several birdie chances. The greens are in great shape, good sand in the bunkers and some rolling fairways will require targeted tee-shots. The beginning and end of the layout borders an artificial lagoon of great dimensions, being the perfect background scenario for the comfortable club house of modern design. Great place to enjoy golf with friends!
