Mendoza: Situated at the foot of The Andes, Mendoza is the capital city of the homonimous province and the most important city of the West of Argentina. In Winter, the minimum temperature is 3º C and the maximum registered temperature is 16º C. The very well known "Ruta de los Vinos" (Route of the Wines) deserves a special mention because tourists can visit ancient cellars and taste excellent yields which are product of carefully chosen grapes. Description: In this longer version of the trip, you will fly to the mountain villa of "San Martin de los Andes", home of the Chapelco Golf Resort (Nicklaus Design). Then though the scenary "7 lakes road" and after visiting "Villa La Angostura" you will get to Bariloche city, to play the courses of Llao Llao & Arelauquen. San Martin de los Andes "Chapelco": This charming mountain town of 15,000 inhabitants takes it name from the "Chapelco" mountain, where the ski centers is located, 30 mins drive from downtown, nestled on the tip of Lago Lácar between high peaks. The town is considered the tourism capital of the Neuquen region, a claim that's hard to negate, considering the copious arts-and-crafts shops, gear-rental shops, restaurants, and hotels that constitute much of downtown. San Martín has grown considerably in the past 10 years but, thankfully, hasn't succumbed to the whims of developers as Bariloche has, owing to city laws that limit building height and regulate architectural styles. The town is quieter than Bariloche and decidedly more picturesque, thanks to its timber-heavy architecture and Swiss Alpine influence. San Martín overflows with activities including biking, hiking, boating, and skiing. The town is also very popular for hunting and fishing and, believe it or not, some do come just to relax.
