Golf Tips

- All the courses in are closed on Mondays, December 25th for Christmas and January 1st.
- Only two courses open on Mondays in Buenos Aires: Cabeza de Caballo & Lomas Athetic Club.
- Golf Courses in Patagonia are opened and playable 365 days a year (never close).
- Almost all the courses are played walking, you can carry your bag, use a pull cart or ask for a caddy.
- Only 4 Courses are playable with "KART" in Buenos Aires: Pilar, Buenos Aires GC, San Eliseo & Nordelta.
- The three courses of Patagonia can be played with "KART": Chapelco GC, Llao LLao GC & Arelauquen GC.
- Normal cost of the "KART" is around 20/30 usd per player.
- Normal cost of a caddy is 30 usd dollars, plus tip.
- One caddy per golfer is the normal rule.
- Caddies “gratitude” are not compulsory but normal rule is around $10 US Dollars.
- All the courses are measured in YARDS and to the center of the green.
- Normally: BLUE sitck is 200 yards to the center of the green, white stick 150, and RED 100.
- Normally: BLUE pin means "back of the green", White pin is "in the middle", RED pin is "at the front".


Travel Tips

Schedules - Times - Hours

Business hours go from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm.
Banks are open from 10 am to 3 pm while exchange houses ("casas de cambio") open till 5 pm.
Shops and Supermarket have extended hours, normally till 10 pm, also shopping malls.
Restaurants start preparing dinner after 8 pm, exceptionally from 7:30 pm. and clients are welcomed up to 2 am.
Pubs & Discos normally close around 6.00 am
.

Tips
Although tips are not compulsary, the rule is to give 10% of the bill in restaurants and cafes. As they can not be included in the credit card payment, tips are payed in cash.

Forms of payment
Bills are issued in pesos. Most establishments accept pesos and us dollars, some of them also Euros (at the exchange rate of the day). Traveler's checks can be used in Buenos Aires, not so common in the rest of the provinces. Payments should be done in cash or credit card (accepted almost everyehere: VISA, AMEX, MASTERCARD, DINERS).

Electricity
Electric energy is 220V / 50Hz in the whole country. To adapt to 220V / 50 Hz from 110V / 60 Hz you will need a simple transformer.

Domestic Airlines “Luggage Information”

LAN: only allows 20kg per person. This INCLUDES the golf bag. One person is allowed to take up to 2 bags plus 1 golf bag and these all have to weight 20 KG. The extra kg costs around USD 4.

Aerolineas Argentinas: allows 15 kg per person, but it does not include the golf bag. One person is allowed to take 2 bags of 15 kg TOTAL plus the Golf Bag.

Verify the size of you carry-on luggage since it should not be bigger than the size of the compartment of the airplane you are about to board to avoid any problem in trying to locate it during the flight. Weight: 5 kg in Domestic flights and 10 kg in International flights.
